    In January 2018, Healthwatch Enfield engaged with more than 600 individuals attending the Accident and Emergency department at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust to build an understanding of routes to A&E.

    Lessons from Haringey’s most vulnerable service users. This report is a summary of issues and concerns experienced by Haringey adult social care service users and carers during the lockdown. Suggestions for service improvements are also presented.

    Healthwatch Haringey continued to make sure the patient voice was load and clear this year through all the changes we faced, including the abolition of Haringey Clinical Commissioning Group and the challenge of Covid-19.

    Earlier this year some of our volunteers carried out a ‘mystery shopping’ exercise, phoning all 38 Haringey GP practices to find out how long it took to reach a staff member.

    Providing GP services over the phone and online through the internet has had a big impact on patients’ ability to contact their surgeries and their relationships with GPs.

    North Middlesex University Hospital were keen to explore a social prescribing intervention approach to work with individuals who are very frequent visitors to A&E departments to successfully modify their behaviour. Our brief study explores this.
